Golden Island is proud to be able to offer raw unprocessed honey, that has never been heated or strained, and that contains all the pollen, propolis, vitamins, enzymes and trace minerals the bees put in. Golden Island honey are produced from sustainable and well managed hieves that are seasonally re-located to ensure the optimum collection of honey from different floral sources.

HONEY SUMMER
This monofloral honey type is light orange in colour and it has an intense thyme aroma. It is generally collected by the honeybees during the months of June, July and August from the North-Western parts of Malta, Gozo and Comino, where vast terrains of wild thyme flourish. Generally this honey type remains in liquid form and will not crystallize.
HONEY SPRING
This is a multifloral honey type collected by the honeybees from different floral sources such as borage, red clover, citrus, thistles, and others. It is generally of a light yellow coloration. This type of honey is generally collected by the honeybees from March till May. Spring honey crystallizes into a dense light coloured medium.
HONEY AUTUMN
This is usually a very dark honey. It is collected by the honeybees from September till October from two main floral sources, carob and eucalyptus blossoms, two trees which are commonly found in Malta. It has an intense aroma and it crystallizes into a creamy light to dark brown medium.

FLAVORED HONEY
Flavored honeys are multi floral honeys flavored with light amounts of fruit extracts, creating a smooth fruity taste. Our flavored honeys are a well sought addition to iced or hot teas, as well as a welcome drizzle in yogurts and ice cream.  They are a tasty substitute for bread spreads and compliment well fruits and salads.  A light wild flower honey blended with natural flavoring using traditional folk recipes. Fat free. No artificial preservatives.

HONEY NUTS & FRUITS
These are multi floral honeys enriched with nuts and dried fruits pieces. They contain a mouth watering combination of dried nuts including walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, pine, cashew nuts, in various quantities. We also make honeys containing dried fruit pieces, raisins as well as with blends of cinnamon, cranberry and vanilla. These honeys make ideal snacks or spreads.

HONEY WINE MEAD
This delicious drink is made from fermented honey and is one of the oldest alcoholic beverages known to mankind. Simply put, mead is fermented honey and water. Our meads are traditionally made using quality local honeys, mulled with herbs and allowed to ferment for a number of years, so as to obtain full flavour. Boasts a spectacular perfume of honey which is accompanied by an intriguing array of floral scents.

Delicious served as an aperitif or as a dessert wine, lovely over crushed ice. No artificial flavourings and preservatives are used.
